Happy New Year

Happy New Year!  We hope you had a wonderful holiday season.

Now it's time to get back to work.

In this posting, I want to cover some of the basic features that you can use to enhance the photo experience with your iPhone.

Touch Focus

The first feature is your ability to make sure the subject of your photo is in focus.  This is achieved by simply touching the screen on the spot where your subject is located.  A little box will appear and your camera will focus on that area.  As you can see from the video below "Touch Brightness".

Touch Brightness Control

The next feature is built upon the touch focus feature.  When you touch to focus and the box appears and so does a little brightness icon.  If you move your finger up or down while touching the screen, you can adjust the exposure of your photograph from lighter to darker.  This enables you to quickly adjust the exposure. See the video below.

Horizontal Shutter Release

The final feature for today is the ability to have multiple shutter releases.  You are familiar with the circle shutter release at the bottom of your screen.  It works great for most photographs.  However, when you are taking a shot horizontally, it can be cumbersome.  There is another shutter release available to you.  Simply, press the volume control to activate the second shutter release.  It works like a charm in the horizontal position. See the video below.

I hope these little features help you to take better pictures.

Next Time

Next time we will discuss the feature available to you when you are in “Photo” mode.
